The start of the series

Crackdown is a series of sandbox games in the open world for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console. The game, released in 2007 is considered the first in the series.

Key features

The action takes place in the fictional Pacific City. The player is given control over the biologically improved Agent. The agent is the representative of the Agency, it was called to Pacific City because of the sudden increase in crime. The main task is to eliminate three criminal bosses and organized crime syndicates: Los Muertos, The Volk and Shai-Gen Corporation. In order to get to the very top and overthrow every villain, the player will have to travel around the city and defeat the first level of the criminal hierarchy: thieves and bandits. Each gang is assigned its own district - so capturing an offender in one area leads to the next level in the hierarchy of one of the gangs. Having defeated the kingpins the player can challenge the head of the criminal organization.

Game mechanics

The game is typical for the third-person-action set in a sandbox environment, like the games of the Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row series. Like other ones in the genre, Crackdown uses a huge set of cold weapons and firearms. As well as various skills and skills that you can upgrade: for example, for more distant jumps on the roofs, hijacking cars and studying the entire game world. For upgrading it is enough to accumulate the necessary amount of Experience Orbs. The entire territory of Pacific City is available for exploring right after the start of the game.
