About

Crawl is 2D rogue-like game with beat em’ up elements and heavy emphasis on local multiplayer.

Gameplay

In Crawl, up to four players or bots explore randomly generated dungeons. One player controls the hero while the other three are spirits.
The goal of each run is to reach the exit, slay the final boss and escape from the dungeon. However, the only hero can do that. Killing hero as a spirit swaps roles and makes you hero giving you a chance to win.
The spirits cannot attack directly but can possess monsters in traps scattered throughout the dungeon. The monsters differ in strength, health, speed, attacks, and abilities. Each player can advance by leveling up and getting new gear. Leveling up increases your stats and unlock new attacks and abilities. Spirits can also level up unlocking new monsters and objects to possess. The weapons and magical items can be found in the dungeon or bought from merchants. There are 25 types of weapons in the game that vary in stats and attack types.
Additionally, each weapon can have one of 27 properties that can affect weapons damage, attack speed, give a chance to perform an elemental strike, or shot projectile. The maximum level in the game is ten after which the hero can face the dungeon boss. Other players must kill the hero by cooperatively controlling parts of the boss.

Early Access Review This Game is Funny, and never boring weret. It's Fun to kill your Friends. And more Fun is to develop Monsters. Then you can laugh at your Friends and say "HAHA GUCK MAL!!!! DU BIST TOOOT!!!! "The Updates are Geilo, and the Stuff you can unlock is HAMMER. So PERFECT for those who like The binding of Isaac AND love to beat up HIS own Friends. 11/10-HerrLemming

Early Access Review The Game concept is very experimental, and it works! And it's always Fun to be either the Hero, or the Monster, or Boss monster, whose Entities the three other Players then have to control. The Pixel Look is nice, an Idea of better Excitement would have been an Idea better, but that's High-level criticism. Great Thing, except you don't have any Friends! Then buy the Game anyway (goes against Bots), accumulate a few Hours Of play, then at least it looks like you're not totally socially impoverished! 8/10

So IF you have friends and controllers for them and only then: BUY THIS!!! SHUT UP AND GIVE THE DEVS SOME MONEY! Its worth it! And you havent played it for real until you find daddy GABEN in this game and get your head ripped of and your neck♥♥♥♥♥♥on by him or play him youself and humiliate your friends! Soundtrack is some epic 16bit pile of joy! This game was so much fun and exciting all the time and everytime i played it with friends ! Has a very oldscool and arcade feeling to it, very good pixel art and animations, very intriguing and enjoyable 16bit soundtrack and every match round of it is utterly satisfying and feels inda new. YOu have to play 5 hours straight to get tired of it and a couple of day you might want to play it again. I already played the♥♥♥♥♥♥out of it in a couple of intoxicated sessions with friends that had it. I just bought it on this steamaccount, because the devs deserve the money for my fun time with it and i want to support creations and maybe further developement of this game/ games like this. I wish it had even more content eg. more monsters, more bosses, more monsterlevels more traps and more dungeons. that keep up with the strength of humans (becasue humans can achieve godlike strenght past level 15 by stacking items etc.) The concept is a fantastic idea and well made! You kind of work together with your friends while at the same time working against each other in a very creative way of asymmetrical gameplay. I want to emphasize the quality of the pixelanimations and pixelart. Good job, devs! Wanna thank you and pls create more fun stuff like this!
