Damsel reviews

Product received for free released a little before Halloween, damsel fits perfectly into the theme by placing you at the controls of a special agent party investigating an energy drink factory suspected of being infested with vampires. On the spot doubts are confirmed, we will have to do the cleaning to prevent them from adding their mystery ingredient and conquer the world! Gameplay level the game is a platformer composed of very short levels with various objectives: eliminate all vampires, collect all skulls, disable security terminals, save the hostages, etc. The character is quite nice to control with a dash, a double-jump and a shotgun to make the household in the monsters (the jump is on the other hand a little floating to my liking). Each action grants a certain number of points and the game will become really interesting as soon as you try to make the best score possible. You will have to go very quickly, do not get touched, realize a maximum of secondary goals, all this without ever breaking your combo. Each level will then become a kind of puzzle where you have to determine the optimal route. Graphically the whole is clean and colorful and I very much liked that the story is told via comic pages, it is really successful (do not expect against the incredible twists). The game remains on the other hand very classic and even if the opponents are more and more tough and the levels more dangerous (pics, surveillance cameras...) a feeling of weariness will settle after a few hours. There are two other modes of play (arcade and daily mission) but reusing the internships of the campaign without bringing anything more. In the video I look pretty blasé, that was the case, but for having replayed it off stream since I took much more pleasure as I learned to chain the dash and jumps without time dead. I really do not understand that in a game clearly oriented scoring there is not a note at the end or at least something to give us an idea of our result to know if we are close to perfection or if there is on the contrary means of ISP much better (there is a leaderboard, but I would have liked a base marker). Another little thing a little pity, the skulls that appear to the destruction of the coffins float just above the Hitbox of the character. It doesn't look like anything but it forces you to jump and it breaks the rhythm. In the end damsel is a nice arcade game but I remain convinced that it could have been much better with some adjustments because the coating is really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17ISifOdmjk
