About

Dark Shadows - Army of Evil is a Classic Medieval Fantasy First Person - Hack and Slash Game with a kind of old school look.

StorySeptember 1362:

An army of evil, named "Dark Shadows", have been ravaging the country like a plague of locusts for over a year and are frightening the people with their scary get-up. Most people still think they are monsters. But they are only in disguise. While you were away these monsters stormed the castle. A woman named Katerina has been kidnapped. It is not just any woman. You are in love with her. They’ve also taken all the gold. All the taxes. And weapons! You are the only one who can help Katarina. You must hurry and follow them before they do something to her.

GameplayClassic Hack and Slash Game:

The player fights his way through 19 levels. Various weapons will be available. They can be found in different levels. Everything begins moderately and you need to find some keys and a sword. After the first level the game turns into a hack'n slash game. Most of the time, the player has to fight against enemies. But he has to do also other little things and must solve certain problems. You need keyboard and mouse.

I... I ought to climb some stuff to get on top of a shelf to get some stuff. Nope, just jumped up this shelf. I just... jumped... Just like that it was over. Jumping is stupid. You can climb stuff you're absolutely not supposed to climb. You climb stuff accidentally! And then you fall. Getting hurt. From about 6, 7 feet... wellllllllll... You start by running to the furthest part of the map to get a key used in the furthest part of the map from there to get a torch you need in the furthest part of the map from there... you get the point. What the hell game? What the hell? And then there was the first... let's be fair and call it a battle. Run towards the strange pig guy while hitting with your sword, evade his attack by taking a single step back. That's it, actually. Best part of the game is closing it to play another game.

The Game is really as bad as the other Reviews describe it! Graphic: There is no 16:9 Resolution or 1920x1080-in what Age does the Developer live? When The Resolution changes, the Screen remains black and only after it is put out and in the new Resolution. Textures are very slurred and in low Resolution-there is also no Anisotropic Filtering. Edge Smoothing Of any Kind is not available, so there are many Stair Effects on Objects. Objects such as Barrels or Walls are tugged or beaten to make them appear to seem larger-making the already mushy Textures even more squishy. There's just a few simple Post-Processing Effects like Bloom, SSAO and Bluefo Effects, but they don't really convince. Story/Mission: "You have to save the Princess, because you are in love with her." Honest? Is it Even worse and more clichéd? The first Level is too confused. You're supposed to find a Gun and a Key in a large Lock. Mocking around after 10 Minutes, I gave up searching-the Needle in a Haystack is easier to find. And no, there's nothing else in this Level. Therefore definitely no Buy recommendation-even in the Sale for-99%

Dark Shadows-Army of Evil is a 3D action game. So Far so beautiful. I really don't know what the Developers ridden from the Game, but it wasn't good. The Game exudes the Charm of an Open-Source project That was launched in 1998 and finished after more than 10 Years of Development. The Menu and Options are strongly reminiscent of Open-Source Programs of the early "Alternatives to Win98" period. The Graphics are harshly dusted, but you like to hang out or glitcht around. The Controls are unclean. The Story so ridiculous and abstrus that you'd have better completely dispensed with it. Models and Animations are not worth talking about. But all this would be forgiven, as with a horrible but somehow sympathetic B-Movie, if you could tell off directly. But the Developers probably found their own Game so bad that they try to scare off as many Players as possible with the first Level. One errs through an ugly winding Castle, full Of weapons and blood-empty Corpses in Search of Keys in order to open Doors and Boxes in order to find a Sword so that one Equips oneself with it. 9 out of 10 Players break that off quickly and uninstall the Game. Those who have come up with something like this also put on their shoes with the Biting Pliers. So only recommended for hard masochistic Players. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WZUrOWzx3M
