Sometime in the far future our world has been engulfed by technology, powered by solar energy and life is thriving. Everything is well except we as humans are greedy and the sun has limited energy. Not too long ago the sun died, all light in the solar system was snuffed out. Most of the humans moved to another system outside of the reach of communication. Very few stayed behind to find a way to relight the world. Light generators were designed to draw in darkness and convert it to light, revolutionary technology, but something when wrong. The machines started to do the opposite, sucking the light from everything left, all the workers were lost in the darkness and disappeared. One technical engineer developed one light that can't be destroyed by the machines that they built to save them. The only problem is it has a very small battery.
