Deep Ones reviews

A rotten submarine. Pixel Adventura with a side view, visually executed in the spirit of old arcade games for ZX Spectrum. The Story canvas is such-a diver in a rusty spacesuit deprived his bathiscafa, and therefore goes to the very bottom of the ocean, which is crawling with various exotic fauna, relentless ghosts of pirates, and monsters, as if descended from the books of science fiction Howard Lovecraft. The Purpose of the character-to find the BATHISCAF and get to the surface. The Single-Bit graphics do not let us feel all the solemnity and grandeur of the underwater world, but with more than conveys the mystery and the impenetrable depths of the deep spaces. At First it is not particularly impressive-a solid black background, no backs, static and angular objects, incomprehensible experiments with light effects and color palette. However, over time, the situation becomes somewhat better-the picture is overgrown with missing elements, and dim flicker ceases to be intrusive. What really annoys me in Deep Ones is that it is up to 4ertics unbearable and dull control, because of what the whole game is perceived not as platformer, but as a usual adventure (which I did not fail to report at the beginning). The Time between the keystroke and the response is a few fractions of a second, which in some cases is the cause of the loss. The Harpoon gun shoots after the sleeves, the enemy NPC have too wide a radius of collision, and the Abordny scene, according to the developer in general pitch gloom. Musical accompaniment-electronic ambient, entirely and completely written in Fruity Loops. I liked Some compositions, others seemed to be extremely piercing and poisonous. From Other pluses I'll note a nice interface, availability of achievements, support of the controller and Russian localization. Verdict: Great idea, lame implementation. For someone, this game can really seem extraordinary-due to its atmosphere and graphics. But for me Deep Ones remains a little pleasant game with terrible control and combat system. The Potential of the game is clearly available-and if the developer takes into account my comments and will finish the game, the price is not. P. S: A Huge thanks to the developer for giving a free copy of this game.
