Created with vluquezi in Unreal Engine over the course of 3 days for Ludum Dare 48. The theme used was Deeper and Deeper.
Deeper Sleeper is a simple isometric top-down shooter. You play as the Deeper Sleeper 3000, a turret-like product designed to defend Sleepers (sleeping people) from things that would wake them up: bright lights, loud noises, nightmares, etc. Defend your Sleeper as long as possible to earn a high score!
STORY
You play as the Deeper Sleeper 3000, a product designed to help people sleep better by defending them from things that would normally wake them up: bright lights, loud noises, scary thoughts, nightmares etc. Your Sleeper is a girl named Amy who has been having frequent nightmares and relies on her Deeper Sleeper to get a good night's rest.
Threats will appear and race towards Amy in an effort to wake her up. Aim at them with your Mouse and Hold Left-Click to fire in order to eliminate them before they reach Amy. Amy will wake once too many threats have reached her. In emergencies, Deeper Sleepers can apply Melatonin to their Sleepers using the M key in order to instantly eliminate all threats. However use this wisely as you are only equipped with 3.
The longer you hold off the threats, the deeper sleep your Sleeper achieves, and the higher your score goes. But beware, as deeper levels of sleep cause more threats to appear.
CONTROLS / GAMEPLAY
The goal is to shoot any threats that try to wake Amy.
