Diatotem
About
Diatotem is my attempt at making a board game that takes advantage of being a digital board game while also being firmly rooted in board game design.
Diatotem is a game about communication and the struggles between people.
Rules:
Goal: After 50 turns have the most squares in your color
Controls:
- arrow keys to move character
- space to toggle Totem placement(untoggling will change the totem type)
- R to restart
- Z to skip your turn
- Esc to go back to the menu
Totems:
- Bear: will attack any enemy totems or players that are one tile adjacent (dies after 6 turns)
- Wolf: will attack any player in line of sight and will move like a Rook in chess would (dies after 6 turns)
- Owl: moves randomly (dies after 2 turns)
- Totems that hit you, besides the Owl, will cause you to lose a turn.
Additional Rules:
- devils will spawn at the sides of the map and will uncolor tiles as they move randomly. Devils can be killed simply by a player or totem moving onto them.
- spinning square tiles will paint adjacent tiles as well as give you an extra move your next turn when touched.
