I do NOT fully recommend this Tool.
After adding a memory of 64GB in my Computer, I've been toying with the Idea of Acquiring Dimming drive for some Time.
After the Purchase, I subjected it directly to a Test; In advance, it should be noted that my Steam library is on USB 3 sticks (and thus probably faster than an HDD but is certainly slower than an SSD).
Tested Was Call of Juarez-Gunslinger, the Loading of the first arcade mission: Without Dimming: 10.53s 10.56s 10.49s 10.53s 10.42s with Dimming drive: 10.67s 10.55s 10.62S 10.73s 10.47s Batman Arkham City-Jumping back to the first Checkpoint: Without Dimming: 6.30s 6.19s 6.22s
6.18s 6.34s with Dimming drive: 10.17s 6.57s 6.23s 6.31s 6.20s Civilization 5 Gods & Kings-Full Game start: Without Dimming: 1min 15.44s 1min 23.68s 1min 18.94s 1min 15.96s 1min 24.97s with Dimmdrive: 0min 36.91s 1min 01,47s 0min 322.44s 0Min 30.55s 0min 33.60s I conclude, That The Purchase Is only worthwhile if the loading Times go towards one Minute. The Differences in the first Tests are probably due to Measurement Errors, only the slow Civilization has revealed a visible Benefit of Dimming drive.
So You should think twice about buying it (despite Sale!).
Addendum: With an Alternative To Creating Hard drives in Memory, I achieved for Civilization 5:1min 20.78s 1min 15.64s 1min 36,83s 1min 21,65s 1min 22,16s, Dimmdrive already performs better here (BUT with already shabbily small Sample). Dimmdrive also has a more pleasant Approach than this Alternative. Nevertheless, I only want to Recommend it to a very limited extent.
