Dinocide reviews

A truly awesome game. The (very short) story is all it takes to not give the impression that the adventure is there for nothing, and everything else is addictive. The levels, although rather short, still offer a challenge, because the health system merged with that of appetite can lead very quickly to a return to the map. While this can be frustrating at times, the difficulty is still calculated so that the game is playable, and it is appreciable. However, it is regrettable that the levels are not replayable, preventing the testing of all the branches of the map in one part, or that the capacity gauge is common to the weapons and powers of the dinosaur, often making weapons useless When we overlap the so-called mounts. But overall, Dinocide is a really good game. It certainly ends pretty fast (about 7 hours for me, being stuck long enough on some levels), but when you see how much each level finished makes you want to chain on the next, it's probably a good thing. In short, a must for fans of retro style games.

It is for this kind of game that we would like to be able to put neutral evaluations on steam. Because if Dinocide is not a "bad" game, I would not classify it in the "good" games so far. It is a platform game, purely, the scenario of which is: a dinosaur the size of a mountain takes away our girlfriend and we leave to save her! Classic but no less effective. Where the game stands out is in the fact that the bar of life and the time bar are the same bar: therefore when one takes a hit the bar decreases, and every 2-3 seconds the bar decreases by itself because the time passes and we are hungry. The only way to recover from life/time is to collect the food that is hanging along the way. So no time to explore the level, or even to mop up to kill all the enemies, you have to hurry to reach the exit. On the way, we pick up weapons to replace our pebbles, and dinosaurs, which gives us a second bar of life and a special capacity according to the dinosaur. What we pick up and bring to the end of the level, we keep it and we can (not obliged) reuse it at the beginning of another level. There are 3 different weapons (stone throwing axes, arrows and boomerangs) and 5 different dinosaurs (6 from one of the captures of the game, but I have not seen it. On the other hand, I found a robotic armor). Note that it is not possible to redo a completed level in the same backup. The music is friendly, the graphics also, I liked the backgrounds of the levels. Animation level on the other hand, it's weak... When you kill an enemy, poof, it disappears into a small cloud of dust. To the limit for the enemies, OK, but when it is a boss who disappears from one shot without even a sound effect when his life bar is empty... It's poor. And that's the big problem with this game, it's empty. We must Rusher to finish the levels, few weapons and dinosaurs, very light animations, no NPC, little difficulty... It's too "simple", I repeat, it's empty. I finished the game in an hour and a half despite 2-3 levels that gave me a bit of trouble. This remains that this is not a bad game, so let's go for a positive evaluation, I recommend it... BUT on sale. If I had put €10 for 1h30 of rush, I would have had a little hurt...
