I turn the radio up but only halfway

I'm not really interested in what the man in the box has got to say

The mountains in the distance are drifting away

But I know it is just their way of asking for some space

And I just need a little bit of distance

That doesn't mean that I'm leaving for good

I need a little distance

It's not you it's me and I want to improve

What's between us, that can only happen with a little

Distance; Give me some breathing space

and I'll come back to you

The morning sun is starting to rise, I shield my eyes

Why have we ever wanted anything else from life?

Things get complicated; if it were to easy, we wouldn't try as hard

And you remind me that it's okay to take time

And a little bit of distance

Helps me see just who we are

The clouds in the the horizon, the dusty grass and orange lights

Are rushing past beside me

I don't think I've ever been this far

I'm flying, I'm not driving

And I know just where my mind is
