Dream Alone is a 2D platformer with classic platform gameplay, unique abilities, deadly traps, horror elements and a dark storyline.
A mysterious sickness strikes a quiet village, one by one, people fall into a coma. When your family becomes affected by the disease, you start a dangerous journey to find the mythical Lady Death who is said to have powers that can stop or even revert the disease.
The story takes you through many lands, from forests, marshlands, caves and factories. Most of the levels have an alternate reality version, you can use this reality to get through areas you weren't able to before and discover new secrets.
A mistake, a wrong jump or simply not being careful enough is sure to equal death. Precise jumps and running, however, are not enough. Some traps need to be deactivated using the hero’s clone ability which allows the player to leave behind a copy of themselves and use it to activate any levers or pressure plates.

Product received for free Den Key to the Game I received free of Charge from Fatdog Games when the Game was still in Early Access. At that time, only Gameplay Material was released, but a Story was announced for Release. Unfortunately, this one has shifted, but waiting was worth it.
Dream Alone is a Gore style mystical Platformer. The Story is gradually told in short Cutscenes, but it always remains mysterious and exciting. The Gameplay corresponds to that of a classic Platformer, it depends on Skill and Timing, but there are also many Puzzles at the Start. You have to look at situations, analyze Them, try things, you must not be Afraid of Failure, because some Puzzles only open up once you have screwed them up. The Graphics perfectly support the Mood of the Game, but the grayscale colour scheme clearly makes it harder to spot all The Traps and to spot all the Puzzles right away. But This is not meant to be a Criticism, but to praise it, because I think it is all consistent. I would definitely classify the Game as entitlement, People who tend to RageQuit will have it a little heavier.
I enjoy the Game and I can fully recommend it to anyone who enjoys The Genre.

Product received for free it is quite rare that I post an evaluation with barely half an hour of play.
Plus I got the key to the game for free to test and make videos on the platforms.
But I can't put a good evaluation.
The universe is interesting, the platform why not, the image in black & white with an old-fashioned atmosphere, Yes, but the realization is not going.
We see the traps at the last moment. QQ times monsters fall on your head with a noise allowing you to avoid them, but 1 mn after others fall without noise and there you are dead.
in 30 minutes I died 50 times maybe and so back to the previous checkpoint every time. OK it is not very far, but still.
And in fact the old-fashioned aspect of horror movies is too pushed because in addition the game is visually on 3 planes: front, back and the median plane on which we are.
Big problem: the front plan includes stone, rock, many trees hiding the enemies repeatedly and so we died since a contact is enough. And I don't like it.
It is not a question of dying or difficulty, but of balancing.
I do not recommend and it is a shame because the principle of changing reality (already seen elsewhere) to avoid some difficulties is not bad, even if limited in time, but that is not enough to counteract the other problems.
