Dream reviews

Since the Program has finally left the Beta Phase, I finally played it. Dream is basically a puzzle game like Swapper/Portal/Talos mixed with a bit of Ethan Carter, with the Action practically complete in Dreams. When I bought it it looked like a promising Approach. However, he went almost completely into his Pants. In my Review of Talos I have already explained what I Think is a good Game of this Genre. So I'm not repeating it again here. The Problems are already starting in the Settings that are still not working properly. For example, the Music Volume you set is saved but not restored, so that you have to adjust it again every time. Change to the BLOOM graphics Option is completely ignored and is always on. Keyboard changes are a pure Adventure Game. After a Change, one is always excited which button triggers the corresponding Function and whether it still works at all. If you look into the corresponding Ini-file, you also know why. If you start the Game and see the UE3 Logo and then expect a corresponding Graphic you will unfortunately be quite disappointed. Anyone who has ever played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter knows what is possible with the UE3. The fact That Dream is only a small Team is not an Excuse, see Miasmata (2 People, own Engine). Even if the simple Graphics should be wanted, there are Things that get terribly on your Nerves. For example, the Depth of Field Is totally exaggerated. This means that Objects more than 6-8 Meters away end up in a ghastly blur doll. But let's get to the real Core, the Puzzles. The oscillate between embarrassingly simple and constructed with Violence. For Example, In one Of the Dreams, you're only worse on a kind of Island in Heaven in a BonBon graphic that might have directly Sprung Serious Sam 2. Here, after finding a corresponding Message, you should look for Easter eggs, which is done by simply running Off the Area. But For this to have a Claim, the last Egg only appears if you attack a picture in a Building. Those who have been to the House before, for whom, however, the Image presents itself as an Object without an Opportunity to Interact. Whoever then triggers the Action out of sheer Despair and then finds the Egg in a Place where nothing was previously found, is hardly rewarded with the Sense Of achievement of a solved Puzzle, but is just happy that he can finally leave here now. On the next Point: Audio and Lyrics One of the horribly annoying Things is repeating the eternally equal Comments with no Regard for Playful Progress. Also missing are some Noises obviously, for example when you walk across the Water, which is quite irritating. Then there are the Texts that seem to Have been translated only in part, or the Program just shows him in the wrong Language or the wrong Graphic. The individual Levels are sometimes quite large. That's not bad on itself. But if the Program drives me away and sees next to nothing and there is no possibility Of interaction, then that just bores. There are also numerous hidden walls and the Player gets stuck on the tiniest of Edges, which prevents a fluid movement. I don't want to go Into the peculiar story here, vllt. One or The Other wants to do this. All in all, a great Approach that unfortunately fails on numerous Adversity. If you want to play a good Puzzle, that doesn't belong on your Shopping List here. Here are my Recommendations:-The swapper-SpaceChem-Unmechanical-Portal 1/2 (+ very heavy Mod: Portal Stories: MEL)-The talos principle (+ the DLC: Road to Gehenna)-World of Goo-The first 3 Parts of the Crazy Machines-series Here are those more Adoptive:-Machinarium Botanicula-The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
