Then came DD Eternity: The first thing that STRIKES you is that DDE has become trist. The Reason is the simple Removal of the Bloom-shader, although the Textures relied on its Effects to shine. So no more sparkle factor, instead dreary Colors. The Menu has also been improved: There are more Slots for Equipment, but their Inventory images have been reduced to such an extent that you first have to point the mouse at each individual Item to find out what you want to create. Intuitively, things go differently! The Game itself has also lost its fluid Style of play: You get the Impression that the Game has been throttled to half the Speed. Why, no one knows. It's just that both the Opponents and their own Guns fight 50% slower than in DD1. It now takes an infinitely long time to finish a Round. I fight sleep every Time my Defences are set up and work stable. Once I'm even nodded in – I watch a Movie for that, but it mustn't happen to a Game! In Addition, this "Non-DRM system" requires a permanent Online compulsion. If the Server is overloaded, the Buyer looks into the Tube (Ubisoft?). In DD1, there was no Server Overload Due to lack of DRM. You can also not start Games on your own PC in Eternity, but run them completely through their Servers. Which leads to the next Criticism: Waiting Times and the pause function (rather the lack of it). Playing online with other Players, a Timer runs in the Lobby until the Game starts. All well and good, that's Standard today. BUT: There are also rare Timers in the private Matches you play on your own. So I'm allowed to wait 30s until I'm allowed into the Game. In DDE, survival mode has also been adjusted: If there were turn-based Survival Modes in DD1 With Break Times, the Survival Mode is now set to an Hour of continuous Attack. No Breaks In which to change character. No Breaks In which to rebuild your Facilities. No Break to take a Break. Trendy expects us to stare 1h constantly at the Screen because the Calculation expires on a Server. Good thing this is not a DRM ... Then it is not allowed to stand up to make a bite to eat.
