Echoes Of Aetheria reviews

An excellent RPG, by the creators of Skyborn. A very good fighting system, making me think of Fire Emblems, unique for an RPG Maker game. A soundtrack just as great + a great scenario + a good lifespan (12 hours and more). Recommended.

Shorter review in english: Pro: + A complex story about power and how it corrupt may even be even the best of intentions. Very enganging and well-paced! + Complex characters, who fit their narrative. + Beautiful sprites of enemies and characters alike. + The combat is easy to learn, but gets more challenging over the time. + All 33 skill of every character different feel! + Replayvalue through interesting achievements, different skills and higher difficulty. Note: If you are a beginner, FIGHT ON EASY. There's really no shame in starting on this one. The last boss especially is still hard enough. + A diverse and interesting soundtrack. Contra:-Some spelling errors, especially towards the end. I would like to see this fixed! 9/10------------------------------------------------------------Longer review in german: Echoes of Aetheria by Dancing Dragon Games (Link: http://www.dancingdragongames.com) is one of those buyable titles, a Game that deals with its pixel look to Japanese Role Plays (JRPG for short) as Final Fantasy IV-VI or Nintendo's Fire Emblem. This means that a Group of dazzling Characters experience an exciting Adventure and learn what true Loyalty means and the War is mostly doof ... Say the People who spend most of their Time stomping Monsters and Villains into the Ground with Swords and Magic. At the very least, at one Point they reflect on the Inconsistency of their own Worldview. Echoes of Aetherie'S Story is good. Right, really good. Of course, the Developers do not reinvent the Wheel anew, on the Contrary, actually they have been using the formula of every JRPG since Final Fantasy IV: Evil nation covers World with War, good Nation fights against the Bad Guys and in the Background there is a third Party where all The Threads Converge. Is that bad? Of course not, the Echoes builds his Plot around this familiar Scaffolding, spinning a complex Story around the Subject of Power and how not only the Greedy can abuse it. This is also reflected in the Characters, who have to come to terms with the fact that they too Need Influence and military Strength to save the World from Destruction. That gives them a certain Complexity that always drove me to keep playing. I wanted to know what happened and can say with Conviction that the Story of Echoes of Aetheria is one of the Few I have nothing wrong with ... And if it does, it doesn't matter further. This is simply a beautiful Yarn that also has very good Gameplay. This is mostly about Lap fights that require a degree of Tactics from me. Instead of just buying the best Armor And the sharpest Sword, it's all about using the right skills, each character of which owns 33. The right Combination of Healing Spells and Attacks leads to Victory, but Beware, even the nationwide fire spell Can become a Curse. Especially at the End, you shouldn't underestimate simple Monsters. The Balance is right, only the Final Fights are really extremely difficult, even on the middle of three Levels of difficulty. I think there's no Shame in switching to easy for the last Fight, as only the Damage that the Final Opponents can pocket changes and they still deal well. The Music of the Game invites you to hum along. My Highlight, however, are the Models of the Opponents in the Fights, which look creative and impressive. The Rest of the Game is represented with standard models of the RPG maker. So Those who don't bother with a colourful pixel look and have played Games of this Nature will continue to take pleasure in it. My only Criticism, are suddenly emerging spelling And Grammar mistakes That catch me up in the last Quarter of the Game and rip me out of the Action a bit. I hope Dancing Dragon Games stampes out the Flaws themselves two Years later. Echoes of Aetheria deserved to be perfect. In its own Way, it already is. 9/10
