About
For the purposes of completing my Graduate Studio 1 project at SAE Creative Media Institute, I wanted to adapt a prior work into an alternative medium with tools that I’m unfamiliar with.
The primary intent of this project was to consolidate my knowledge in integrating audio, visual & interactive components into a 3D environment with the secondary goal to adapt the pre-existing theatrical work into a digital experience.
EDIT is an informal study in the relationship between author and character. Joyce's autobiographical representation, Dedalus, is combined with my own aestheticised identity in a structurally episodic adaptation of Ulysses.
This game is an adaptation of the final scene of the theatre show. The final scene of the work makes a statement on why authors, and by proxy, I create autobiographical representation in my theatrical practice - and that is a reaction to fear of mortality & non-existence. The final scene deals with the urge to create immortality via a fictional persona (the edit).

EDIT had its first life as a theatre work in 2016 at the Sydney Fringe Festival. Thank you to the original team who took part in the original development process: Kaylee Gannaway, Lachlan Smith, Nic Prior, Ruby Newport & Flynn Hall.
