Eisenhorn: XENOS reviews

Eisenhorn: Xenos is the Successful attempt to Implement the first Part of the Trilogy playing in the Warhammer 40K universe about the imperial inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn by Author Dan Abnett. What begins promisingly in the Context of a solidly presented story and for the limited Budget of the rather small developer studio quite appealing visual Implementation unfortunately ends with the beginning of the second Half of the Game in a Disaster of fruitisome Bugs, annoying Mini-Games and loveless level design. Where the Game can still score points, especially in the first Sections with a coherent and appropriate Representation of the Gothic architecture and Scenery of the WH40k universe, there is no shortage of any Variation around and bored with monotonous, empty Plateaus and jittery effects like a perpetually recurring Sandstorm whose presumed Function is the Obfuscation of imaginatively conceived outdoor Levels. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=836556738 The Developers also manage to depict the Characters that look alive in Abbott'S Novels only partially. If Gregor Eisenhorn himself, promoted by a strong Performance by Voice actor Mark Strong, still appears as a credible Embodiment of the imperial Inquisitor on his Way into the Unknown, all other Figures are reduced to interchangeable Companions without Ever get real Interest with the Player. You can learn brief Background Information on Eisenhorn'S various Companions, but never Feel that any of You matter to what'S Happening. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=835360175 The Combat System is characterized by a surprisingly fluid Process and pleasant Handling. Although kept simple, the various Weapons such as Chain Swords and Bolt Guns open up varied Possibilities for the Use of the Combo System and the so-called "Hold-for-Breath" mechanics, which resembles the VATS system of the fallout series. Eisenhorn'S psionic Abilities also allow him to track the Movement of Enemies, attract them or stun them for a short Time. Unfortunately, the Camerawork is not one of the Strengths of the Game and in some Fights repeatedly makes for unfortunate Perspectives, which make the Action unnecessarily difficult. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=836554840 Despite a technically successful Implementation, which can convince by consistently high Frame rates and no Crashes in 20 Hours of Play, the Limited budget of the Developer studio. Varic Wealth in The type and Armament of the Opponents is practically non-existent and the Implementation of two tiring Mini-Games, some of which are repeated up to five times in a row, makes the Advancement to Be Tormented. In addition, a constant Flow of Play is prevented by annoying Bugs such as Errors in enemy finding, sudden Animation Hanger and Fixed Stuck in the Terrain, which invariably requires a Reboot at the last Memory Point. On a Positive note, only the very low loading Time of the individual Levels is to be noted here. For German Players, buying through the Steam store brings yet another Shortcoming, as the Developers have unnecessarily decided to provide the German Version With ridiculous Censorships such as green blood and a lack of Combat Animations, as if the Planning Phase For the Release in Germany started back in 1995. Although Pixel Hero Games with Eisenhorn: Xenos can set various positive Accents, the fun factor, the unnecessary Cuts in the German version and the generally poor Quality Control in the later Course Of the game in particular prevents Buy recommendation from me. With low Expectations and generous Frustration Tolerance, WH40K fans may strike at a reduced price.

The storyline is superb and fitting for the Warhammer 40k universe. Graphics are dark and stunning as should be. Small points of criticism are that some characters are a bit duller than they should be. A sinister Inquisitor suits the character just fine, but a bit more variation would suit the universe. Controls are a bit course. Luckely, super smart targeting makes controllability a secundary issue. This does make the fighting a bit easy though. New weapons are available but the amount of coins required is rediculous. Fortunately, the coins do not require real money just hard gaming. And the weapons given do the job just fine.

At the level of artistic direction, it is a real killing. The decorations are splendid and immense, the soundtrack sticks perfectly with the atmosphere and the dark and violent universe of Warhammer is well transcribed. On the other hand, the AI of the enemies is completely strawberry, making the infiltration phases of an abyssal boredom. The enemies are all the same, making the action terribly repetitive, one gets bored quickly especially as the challenge is not very high. Rest that the game is quite long and the plot rather rich (even confused at times). If you want to take a full look and if you are not very looking at the gameplay, go ahead.

Technically, with its grandiose Graphics, it sets new Standards in The Field of MobileGaming. With Controllers great to play. Only the Weapon Update System is quite lame. A Little more Money wouldn't be Bad. I've been Playing for X Hours now and I've only been able to afford a new Sword so far. And this with a huge Range of Long-distance weapons. What a pity.... Just good that this is not an In App Buying message. Hey and thank the Guy with the red Blood Trick ... Why do you get on it yourself. Addendum: I'm at a Level where you just have to walk through the Area just to get from one Gate to another. I'm doing this three Years already felt and there's no End in Sight. In the Beginning I thought the I did wrong .. But according to the Complete Solution, that's kind of part of the Game. It's just boring, how can you let such an ingenious Game degenerate like this? I stop now and withdraw everything positive. There's worse than a boring Game.
