Endless Flight
About
Endless Flight is a visual and auditory experience where the user is transported through an otherworldly womb, surrounded by flocking birds and guided by a shinning light. The piece was first shown in 2019 at the GHAM & DAFE gallery in Montreal.
I was inspired by a piece of software and research paper written by Craig Reynolds in 1987, titled Boids, in which he explains and demonstrates an algorithm devised to simulate the flight path of birds in a three dimensional space. The idea of a collective consciousness is an interesting one, which was used as a launching pad to create this work.
