Demo for the upcoming fantasy interactive fiction game Entropy.

Currently included in the demo:

Character creation: Create your Acolyte! Choose from a variety of backgrounds, ancestries, and even your motivation for joining the Temple of Yda
Prologue (first half): Get the first look at the strange investigation you’ve joined, and choose whether or not to be sworn in as a full member of a failing temple
Meet your companions: Enjoy a bit of wining and dining with 5 of 6 companions and 3 of 5 romance options

Something strange is going on beneath the city of Alannar. People are disappearing. Murder victims are being found with their souls forcibly ripped out. The cult of a dead goddess has emerged for the first time in 800 years. Join the investigation as the Acolyte, a new initiate into the failing Temple of Yda. Whether motivated by duty, religious fervor, or the simple desire for a job, venture into the heart of the city and meet with the Alannarian guard, black market contacts, or foreign academics. Delve into the workings of the mysterious Cult of Kääldet and negotiate with their charismatic high priest. Build alliances and gather clues as you work to put an end to the murders – or join with those responsible to bring about unimaginable change to the world. rivekk var et saan byyreijkë – change begins within the soul.

entropy is an upcoming work of queer fantasy interactive fiction, set in the fictional land of Valaan. The Acolyte is fully customizable, with options for name, pronoun preference, ancestry, occupation, and more. There are six companions, four of whom are romance options for all genders, with an additional non-companion romance option. Romance routes are optional.

Your choices will shape your investigation; the Acolyte’s skills and background may open up new possibilities and choices – not all of them good – and the organizations and people you choose to support will help or hinder your investigation. Each companion also has an arc of their own, which the Acolyte can directly influence.

V2 of the demo is coming soon! The update will include: expanded conversations during companion introductions, the full talent system, spoiler-lite previews of each of the romance paths. I am also working on accessibility features, as well as keyboard controls and a mobile-friendly layout.
