If I want to play a Hidden Object Game, then not only do I want to have to look bluntly for any items, but I also want to be able to go through the Pictures myself and experience a little more Interaction from the Game.
As an Example, I would like to mention the Series of Grim Tales (unfortunately not available from Steam).
At Escape From Rosecliff Island, I only had one Sense of Achievement, and that's When I'd finally fought my way through after 8 Hours and thought "Finally it's over."
In short:-constantly the same items-felt a hundred times the same Places-the Mini-games are boring and 08/15-for the Implementation the Duration of the Game is clearly too long

Escape Rosecliff Island is a Hidden Object Point & Click game. This in itself is certainly a Matter of Taste, but-if it is well done-it may well be worth a Look. Unfortunately, this Game gets everything wrong that you can only think of. It advertises itself with "over 2000 + Items and 25 Places," but that's simply a Lie. Yes, the 25 Places exist, and the 2000 + Items may also exist-but these are often just other Versions of the same Items (Eg, two different looking Horseshoes). These then come back in breaking frequency, because instead of providing a bit of Variety, you have to look for the eternally same Stuff.
What bothers me most personally is the Lack of a Goal. Especially these Hidden Object Games need at least a Touch of Story, which is sensibly reflected in the Places and objects, and an obvious Goal that animates you to continue playing. Escape Rosecliff Island, however, lacks both. There is no Story, except that you should get down from the Island (but that remains the only Info). The Items you have to look for there very often don't make Sense in Context-I mean, how does a Muffin or a Phone Symbol help me with my Escape?
There are also a few miserable Attempts to bring a bit of Variety to the Monotony, for Example where you have to connect things or they are paraphrased. There are Mini-games between levels (Such as Puzzles or bejewelled blends), but only a limited Number of Variations, and these are just as uninspired as the Rest of the Game. In addition, there is the Possibility to play the bejewelled incision in 15 Levels, as well as the "Unlimited" variant of the Search operation-also brazenly lied again, since you can only search for all the items hidden in the 25 Levels, so nothing since with Unlimited.
