Early Access Review "Eternal Winter" Was a Game that always sounded kind of interesting to me, but without me having dealt with it more closely. So let's start ... Before the Start comes a small Window in which I can change Resolution and Quality Levels. From Minimal to Ultra to Maximum, everything is there. Wow, a Graphic Monster .. More on that later. The Control can also be adjusted individually here-more on this later. The Menu in the Game looks cheap, but Early Access, you can see all over it. And on it goes into Play ... And directly to the first Problem: The Control ... The Pre-settings have not been taken over, so everything again with the standard WASD (which I do not use). Well, ingame can also be changed here something, so done directly. Now I want to take the first Step, but the Directional Buttons are no longer going! I can sprint and jump on the Spot, but go doesn't go. Sigh. So back to Standard, Reboot (change alone does nothing) and stop WASD so that at ALL something goes ... In the Room I'm in are heaps of boxes, all empty Except for a Bandage. After opening Menus, I'm always forced to press the ESC button to close them, why can't that also work with the user button, for example? This is all far too awkward. Yes, I know, Early Access, but am I now the Only one in a Year Development who noticed this and who is annoying? And the Control Settings, all ok so far? First Time further: In front of the House I see that I am in a Village. And to bring out the "Graphic Monster" again: Everything looks incredibly polygone-ugly and empty. People act like Aliens, see here, for example. In front of the Village now my 4 Dogs and sleighs are waiting, so sat up and slicked off, but nowhere there, the Dogs do not move. So What is again? Direction Buttons: Nothing, Mouse: Nothing. I came to use the Arrow keys at some point and lo and behold, already the Dogs are running. Awkness, the Next. Now I am alone in Nature and this one is gripped by Winter, everything is gloomy, dark and bleak. Here the Graphic fits the Topic again, but we are still a long way from good-looking. Even when It comes to tree Growth, you can't talk about a Forest. So Canada is not that at times. ;) Suddenly after some Ride, one of my Dogs is attacked by a Wild Boar and the Attacker eventually walks on it. The Pig can then be broken down into Meat. Ok. It would be cool if you could somehow hunt from the Sleigh, but I don't think that's possible. By the Way, the Animations don't look good either ... Every now and then you find Corpses that may have left something Useful. And then there are huts on the Horizon to go into. Well, and what can I say, an Inner Life is virtually nonexistent. Walls with Window Hatches, all Monochrome, that looks pretty small and cheap; I didn't get into a Hut at all because the Door was too small ... With a bit of Luck you will find something to feed, at least that's what it looks like. And that's kind of the point of the Game, finding Food and Usable and bringing It back to the Village. When a Wild Boar slated me in a direct Duel (quite aggressive, the Critters), I stopped and uninstalled the Game. I am Sorry, but I cannot give a Thumbs up with the best Will. The Game has been with Early Access for almost a Year and I don't think there's going to be great Content here yet. Especially since the Graphics are anything but pretty and certainly no Fresh Cell cure will experience. Graphics aren't everything, but the Rest is somehow wrong either. Except the OST, which sounds nice, the only one (?) Titles repeats itself over and over again, though. And at some point, even that doesn't sound nice anymore. Overall, the Game leaves a very unfinished impression. Funnily enough, most of the positive Reviews are from People who have played the Game for a maximum of 2 Hours. So there doesn't seem to be Any particular Long-term Motivation for Proponents of the Game either ...
