Evochron Legacy reviews

Simply put, many space simulations are simply completely through, such as the X-Universe, or do not bring the Depth of play that is expected of a long-term Title, especially with the latter appearances of ED, SC or EVEN NMS, this is not the Case at all and It will never be guessed. Very different here: I Started with Evochron Mercenary back then and it already grabbed me well. But by now, Evochron Legacy has replaced all other space games on my part. Here I go completely up in all Aspects that an absolutely freely experienceable environment should offer. The learning Curve of the Game is immense for Newcomers, but you have been there. Countless Possibilities and with an open End a Game that can be played back on Years. I pay huge Respect to the Developer. All developed from a Single source and implemented an almost perfectionist Model of space simulation. If you don't like the almost perfectionist model, you can polish it up with the "Evochron Community Overhaul Project" or Modify many Things even with the "Evochron Legacy Customizing and Modifying Kit." Absolute Recommendation for all excessive Space Simulators!

Winner of hearts Compared to other space sims its quite ugly. Think of Wing Commander 3 Cap Ships. Shape and textures are almost the same. I support the idea behind it - that a space opera should be playable on low end machines too. But if you're rig is capable of more... its a bit argh! I want to bring the sandbox to live eg. in x3 i get lots of stuff to do spawning fleets and stations and pretty looking mods. But as the title says by heart it has many things none of those AAA titles have. But you have to deal with grafics and the ui. The tutorials help to get the basics but it will take time to memorise them and to get used to flight physics. Now and then you encounter things we hopefully see in future patch notes. Eg. its way to easy to unload your weapons and if you're a trigger happy like me you'll sell em with the wrong click. - There's no "do you rlly want?". Another example is the Galaxy map. There are jjust a few charted systems but a lot more between em to discover. So you always have to manually log things you find or you hear about. So a possibility to direct these things to a ship computer would be great. But when overcoming these obstacles it has a lot to offer gameplaywise. Building stations, mining, trading, smuggling, exploring, fighting, etc. ahitloads of stuff to do. - But the presentation is limited eg gfx and you wont meet dozends of ships like you may in the old x series or around some systems in elite. So you really need your own mental cinema to bring things to life because there's no Plot or Cutscenes. I have to play more for details but for x-mas my wish would be smth like: Let the EA CEO go to this guy and make him Lead Designer for a new Space opera. Make his ideas good looking and provide gamers with a decent Space opera after yeas of crappy games. amen!
