Overall a really simple but a very good Game!
Anyone who is an Indie and Anime fan at the same time can play this Game confidently.
I would award 7 points on a Scale of 1 to 10.
Now to the Pros and Cons.
Pro: + Cheap + Runs also On poorly existing Hardware + Steam Collection Cards Support + challenging Difficulty levels Cons:-Keyboard Layout not adapted to German Keyboard-No 1080p support-Gameplay passes quite quickly as it is usually the same. Only other Boss opponents per Stage.
Overall, however, a successful Indie game!

eXceed 2nd is not the be compared with the other 2 eXceed games that had their flaws. It builds up his own system and requires you to change your strategy within the game quite a lot of times. In eXceed 1st the game was fully japanese, however in eXceed 2nd that has improved.
What makes eXceed 2nd different from eXceed 3rd is the system. Fully.
I made a review about eXceed 3rd being a big Touhou clone, and tbh I was expecting eXceed 2nd to be a clone as well, but it's not. Within the game, there are 2 types of bullets:
- Lightblue Bullets
- Dark Red/Purple Bullets
You have 2 types of forms you can switch to,
switching your color from Light to Dark and Dark to Light. The Dark Form absorbs Dark Bullets, the Light Form absorbs Light Bullets. The absorbed bullets transfer to your charge bar. Once it's full, you can use an attack that will deal severe damage. This makes it a lot easier to survive in the beginning of the game and lets you think that this game is easy. But oh boy, it's NOT. Throughout the game, switching your forms will be crucial for you to survive, and staying with 1 form will make things a lot harder than it is. So you better switch forms, gain your charge and use it only when you need it. But even if you switch forms, keep in mind that you both tracked down by Dark Red AND Lightblue Bullets. Sometimes you may not be able to switch in time, or maybe even switch in panic because both types of bullets are flying at you.
I recommend this game, definitely. It has it's spices, even though the beginning makes you think that this game is child's play. It's definitely not. And keep 1 thing in mind: Gameover means Gameover. Once you outrun of Credits, you will not be able to restart the level. No second try once you run out of lifes and credits. So make sure to value every life and do your best not to waste them.
9/10
I take away 1 point for a simple reason: Both forms that you can switch inbetween are 1 and the same, and that makes it unnecessary for most people to switch inbetween forms in many situations. I think it would have been better to make the Dark form fire weaker homing particles and the Light form fires stronger non-homing particles. It would have made people think twice whether they want to keep their current form or not.
