Falling (verisimilitude)
About
A key symbol will appear in a random position at the top of the screen and begin to descend. Press the corresponding key to stop it and start anew. Failure to do this lets the key hit the bottom and the game then ends.
I wrote this in a few minutes on the penultimate day of the Octo Jam VI. The goal of this program was to be something simple I could optimize solely for size, that I've yet to see in CHIP-8, and which would exemplify the platform and adhere to the strictest instruction hertz count.
Optimizing even a tennis game for seven to ten instructions per second is too arduous, I think. I do not intend to wait for the next Octo Jam to start writing more games, as I foolishly did this past year, and I will be using Super CHIP-8 instruction hertz instead of those of the original CHIP-8 implementation.
I will have a documenting of this game available here: http://verisimilitudes.net/2019-10-30
