Made for the GMTK game jam 2021 in 16 hours.

Controls

• Click & drag to move left right
• Click on a family dude & drag to join a non-family dude and make babies

The goal is to make your family lineage last as many generations as possible (shown with the white counter at the top, on the right). 

Each line is a generation. First (bottom) red line is for babies. Last (top) line is for old dudes (who cannot make babies anymore).

There are 3 stats passed through your family

• Number of babies : how many babies this dude will make [1-3]
•  Luck : Fitness to survive famine (inversely proportional to other stats for non-family dudes) [0-3]
• Friendliness : how many other dudes will generate with this dude [0-3]

Stats are passed through genetics. So each dude has two sets of stats from both parents : one expressed and another hidden. So hidden stats may be passed on to next generations and expressed later on.

Disasters : Every X step (shown with the red counter on top) something bad happens. There are 3 disaster types :

• Famine : Kill all unlucky dudes (unlucky is 0 or 1 for luck stat)
• Plague : Randomly kills 3 dudes on the board
• War : Kills half the babies (yours and friends)
