Space can also be used to jump. If you use space, run the game in fullscreen.

To break the cycle you need to find the 5 keys. One is hidden in each level. Sometimes you need to come back in another cycle to be able to find the keys you are missing. Once all 5 are located, a secret end portal will open, and the cycle can be broken.
