Frozen Cortex reviews

Mode 7 is back! Those of you who hated frozen Synapse can immediately pass their way! Without being a repetition of their original creation, frozen cortex relies on similar concepts, and a fundamental gameplay principle: the simultaneous turn-by-turn. Except this time, forget the guns and terrorists side, we swap all this for futuristic sports arenas that will make think two minutes to a mix of blood Bowl, American football and Tron before realizing that this game is nothing of a simulation Sports. It is the tactical 100% pure juice game, with a particularly marked emphasis on anticipation of the opponent's movements. The solo is at the rendezvous and it will be nice to those that the multi (yet quite fundamental on a game of this genre) does not attract. There is a solo campaign in permadeath, as well as the possibility to play a full season, or even to play a game completely randomly. The multi is classic, we will appreciate the option "find me a game" which allows to let make the program to launch a game in multi. The rules of the game are super simple and yet mastering what one does will require a real learning. This is the strength of mode 7 productions: easy to learn games but difficult to master. I particularly appreciate the possibility of being able to completely customize my team in the campaign mode, with many parameters to take into account, and the Visual rendering is pleasing to the eye, one finds there even a certain graphic paw that made the feature of frozen Synapse, especially in color rendering. It's obviously a pretty special game that will leave a lot of people completely indifferent, I think, but who'll be passionate about others, and for a long time. To help you see more clearly, I have prepared a little video discovery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgTmbjZsHSE

Frozen cortex is simply frozen Synapse in light version and with a sporting background. When I say light, it should not be heard in a derogatory way, however. It's just that the gameplay is lighted from the whole military dimension so in a sense there are fewer options available. But it's just as tactical and that's what makes it strong. By simply offering the ability to move players, run with the ball or make a pass, a multitude of lanes opens up to the two opposing players. The concept is basic since it is enough to grab a bullet, and to put it in a specific area without getting it stolen by the opponent. There are also intermediate blue areas that offer extra points if the bearer of the ball passes through these checkpoints. We have to assign orders to the robots forming our team every turn. As the game uses a system of WeGo or turn-by-turn with simultaneous resolution, the mind game aspect is very developed. We're trying to read the opposing strategy to take action. And the game allows us to fictively assign opposing orders to see the limits of our tactics and anticipate the opponent's orders. In short it's fun and you can spend 20 min to make your turn if you are ultra thorough. The AI is competent but obviously nothing beats the multiplayer on this kind of game. I was just a little disappointed by the tutorials that are not clear enough from my point of view while by essence the game is accessible. As for the background spatio-futuristico-robotico-electronics, it speaks to you... or not. This is not the interest of the game but I can understand that it does not seduce. Especially as the atmosphere in the "Stadium" is limited. Neither cheerleader, nor fan who comes running on the field to greet his favorite robot, it lacks a tiny bit of soul (remains the commentators, but it is limited). That being said, this is my favorite game for 2015 so far:) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=414190424
