Genodice
About
Genodice is an 2D isometric strategy rogue-like where your goal is to survive as long as possible.
Instructions:
- Player has 2 rolls per turn, enemies have 1.
- Damage is dictated by the number you land on after performing a roll (WASD)
- W/S: UP-RIGHT and DOWN-LEFT movement (column)
- A/D: UP-LEFT and DOWN-RIGHT movement (row)
- Damage is dealt one tile (base range) in front of the direction moved
- Purchase upgrades to increase damage range + unlock sideways attacks
- NOTE: Standard dice are set up so that opposite numbers add to 7. This game maintains this rule. Keep this in mind when moving the player around :)
Enemy Types:
- Default Enemy (RED): The default enemy's health is dictated by its number. Doing damage greater than the enemy's current health will award you coins equal to the difference.
- Lover Enemy (PINK): The lover enemy can only be taken out if you damage it while landing on the same number as is displayed. Lover enemy's always award 1 coin upon death.
Shop Items:
On each new board (round), a yellow shop cell will be randomly generated, and one of three items will be available for purchase:
- Caeleb's Power Puncher: Increases your forward attack range by 1 tile.
- Marcel's Left Shoe: Increases your leftward attack range by 1 tile.
- Allen's Right Monocle: Increases your rightward attack range by 1 tile.
The cost of all items are increased after an item is purchased.
Due to it being a week long project, there are still some quirks and audio issues (be wary of volume, slider is only on the bottom right of the main menu) that need to be fixed.
