ground_0
About
In "ground_0", the earth you stand on is your ammunition. Absorb dirt particles to power your weapon. If you’re not careful, you’ll run out of the ground beneath your feet and fall to your death. The corpses of enemies will leave behind extra dirt, which can be a curse–if you let it build up too high up, you’ll have less time to react to the flying enemies and their projectiles. But, usually you’ll be rationing your dirt and timing your shots to eliminate multiple enemies at a time. Just be careful where you reload–don’t make any holes!
Features:
- 9 stages
- 3 enemy types
- Destructible terrain
- Easy to learn game play, but very unforgiving
- An original bumpin' soundtrack consisting of 2 songs (well, maybe just 1; the title screen song is just a rehash of the in-game song...)
- Time tracker and death tracker--improve your run!
I made all the music, sound (using SFXR), graphics, and code for the 72 hour Ludum Dare 42 game jam as a solo team. Made using GameMaker Studio 1.4.
I don't have any current plans to develop this further, but there's definitely potential to add more levels, enemy types, etc. Maybe look for a ground_0+ some day :)
Comment with your time and death count when you beat it!
