Heroes of the Monkey Tavern reviews

Adventurers have a hard time: No sooner have they amassed gold than the Glitter production is already Squandered at the Suff in the next Tavern. So my Heroes of the Monkey Tavern have no choice but to embark on the perilous Quest for new Riches within a multi-storey Dungeon. I can freely assemble the four-person party from a Pool of Classes, I classically choose a Fighter, Cleric, Thief and Magician, But unfortunately I can't forgive names for this. Visually, the Game has succeeded quite respectfully, only the three ambient sets of the 8 Floors are not very different from each other and more level details I missed in the Game. For this I found the Soundtrack very successful, the Pieces of Music are thematically well chosen and arranged in an atmospheric way. As I explore the Dungeon in a classic step-by-step way, I encounter a wide Range of Monsters that I fight in Real time, including thick boss opponents. Unfortunately, the Fights are quite static, because my whole Group suffers damage as soon as I dodge backwards with it. So all that remains is the constant Selection of cool-down Spells and Weapons until the Enemy is virtually Clicked dead. In the Level-Up, the character values also automatically increase, new Spells or Abilities are fixed. At least finding new Gear for my Group motivates me to explore the Levels to the last Corner. The Playing Time is also relatively short, more than 7-8 Hours you should not be busy until the Final is reached. My Conclusion: Unfortunately, the dungeon crawler falls short of Expectations, too spartan levels, shallow puzzle insoles, static Fights and, above all, the lack of depth of play in Character Development cost quite a bit of Atmosphere. Recommended only for Fans of the Genre.

A very weak Version of Legend of Grimrock 1!!! First: The Game is not suitable for Beginners as there is no Tutorial or any Explanations. There is not even an Overview of the Key Assignments. In addition, the Fights are also very difficult, because you can't avoid the Opponents as usual in Dungeon Crawlers in which you run to The Side. You have to stop in front of your Opponent! If one Moves, it counts that as an Escape and one suffers Damage! In the Case of the boss Fights, the Ability to move is even completely disabled during the Fight. In General, the Game is very flat and superficial in every Way. There are hardly any Game Mechanics, as in Dungeon Crawlers actually gang And give. D.H. No Teleporters, Spinners, pressure plate and Object Puzzles, no Trapdoors, ... There are only Switches, hidden Switches, Keys and Traps (Sting and Fireball) as Mechanics or Puzzles. As a result, the whole thing becomes monotonous very quickly. Furthermore, you can't distribute Skill points or Attributes when Leveling Up. It all happens automatically here. Also, there are few Spells (12) and especially with the Elementarist (Magician) the Spells (8/12) differ only slightly. You also have to Equip the Spells like Objects, which makes changing the Spells in Combat very cumbersome and detrimental, as the Game cannot be paused. The Same applies to the Items! Only 0815 Items. No Sword that causes Fire damage or sucks off Life energy. Also, you can't move the Items freely in the Game world. There are also no Torches (Torches) or Food in the Game, so you can rest always and constantly to restore Life energy and Mana. Also very poorly solved is that the Character practically fight in a Row. Although the Melees protect the Long-distance Fighters and Magicians Somewhat, the bottom line is that my Priest had to heal himself the most, especially because all Opponents cause Damage to the area. Normally, the Characters are placed in several Rows, so that you position the Weak at the back. There is practically no Story! The Adventurers need Money and therefore explore a Tower. There are no story-related Texts in the Game. The Only thing that has really succeeded is the Sound and the music and perhaps still the Staging Of the Boss fights. I can't recommend it. Get it really only for 75% Discount and only if you already have all the Dungeon Crawlers through ... And by that I mean both the New and the Old from the 90s!
