Hippocampal: The White Sofa reviews

Really enjoyed the low graphics and the cryptic story. Soundtrack fitted also perfectly with the scenes. Here's a good example of how you can make a game with not much effort. I enjoyed those 4 levels totally.

What the hell? 1 Hour short and ... I haven't seen myself able to see more than nothing! Gameplay, like other Walking Simulations, is just floating around in a bizarre non-real World, although that sometimes seemed very fiddly, also because of the Collision Query And the like. Story I didn't see any, I couldn't finish the Description in The course of The Game, because there is hardly anything to read and understand! Verdict: I buy a huge Ice cream tomorrow and have longer on the Product than on this software thing, which is completely Banana and for me more inaccessible than a closed Tank door with meter-thick Plates!

I know Hippocampal was meant to be a satire of video games but it's still nonetheless one of the most pretentious pc game I ever played in my life. Sure, The Slaughtering Grounds, Time Ramesside, Devils Share, Gabe Newell Simulator and Galactic Hitman - just to name a few - say a lot about Greenlight's lack of quality control but Hippocampal is something I've never experienced before: horrendous art style, confusing level design, clunky control, tedious pacing, ear bleeding sound effects, cheesy music, uncanny cutscene and poor optimization. As an astronaut who somehow got lost in space, you must escape from a threatening alien race and make your way through three maze-like levels that are reminiscent of Interstellar's 5th dimension but done poorly as the level design is confusing as hell, not to mention the epileptic lightning effects. Moving your character in the 5th dimension can be quite a challenge since there is a lot of collision issues. I spent most of my game time struggling with the environment. The puzzles consist of nothing but picking up four items in each level. Overall, Hippocampal is just on par with other pretentious and weird indie titles such as The Graveyard, Dinner's Date and Deus Ex Machina 2. I'd recommend this game for those who think that "artsy" and "experimental" are above entertainment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jA1m3hLRR8 Rating: 0.1 / 10
