About

Hotel Blind is a simulator of a blind person in a hotel room. Enter a new room and complete five objectives before leaving the room. Text popups and audio describe the objects in the room and the walls, allowing you to map out the room in your mind as you play. Navigate the room using movement keys or your gamepad. Completing all of the objectives will complete the room. Each play starts a random room. Hotel Blind can be a standard experience, or a VR experience on the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.

Hotel Blind is powered by Unreal Engine 4. It is inspired by this NPR Story: http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/464/invisible-made-visible

Hotel Blind reviews and comments

Some games are trolling on the idea of selling you a black screen as a game. The title is explicit and we know what to expect. Here, hotel blind takes you for a truffle by stealing 2 euros under cover of "serious game", through which one can experience blindness. Atrocious scam that this black screen that does not have menu, functional success, gameplay, or even sound design (a peak for this concept). Nothing. The void. Although, we have a robotic voice that mumbled incomprehensible indications on our position in an apartment, from which one can exit once key actions (sic) completed. This stew officially joined my top 10 of the worst steam games when it crashed my PC during "party". If there is a class action against the author of this scam, tell me where to file my testimony to charge.

Running a black screen with the Unreal engine 4 is probably the first bad joke, after the one that follows the affront of getting us to download almost 500mb of intersideral vacuum. Locked in a small hotel room, we move in WASD (so you have to switch to "QWERTY" via the command ALT + SHIFT) and we will interact with space. To believe the intervals of time between the meeting of each objective that it will be necessary to validate (press space in front of all that composes the furniture), the room is not larger than a Studio. For a blindness Simulator, we could have done without the visual feedback that only rewrites to the screen what a feminine voice repeats you tirelessly every time you fall on a solid obstacle; voice that is the only sound component of the game: no atmosphere, no noises... No sound engineering that could have justified the absence of a graphic part. Meeting one of the side walls will even be rewarded with a "it's the West/East wall", the developer not being pissed to program a distinction between the two. An extreme laziness/a shameful mouth-filling since at the end of the 7 minutes of play you will surely end up finding the exit once the goals accomplished, and therefore the game. Yes, because you are offered to renew the experience each time by redistributing the lot of furniture in the room; which means that boredom is expandable to infinity, hurrah. Cream of the cream, the only success has become bugged after an update. If you plan to get it, you will need to download an old deposit from the game by opening the steam Console (type "steam://nav/console" in your browser bar) and pasting the following piece of code: download_depot 457690 457691 3133430200216711230 to following what, you will have to copy the downloaded content from the directory [...] /Steamapps/content/app_457690/depot_457691 and overwrite the one in the game folder (right click from the steam library > properties > local files > browse local files). Unless you search for an easy + 1 to its 100% hunting table, hotel blind is to flee urgently. Did you like this evaluation? Find others by joining our editorial group: purging.
