Influent reviews

Influent is a very nice educational game to learn some basic vocabulary, but it's just a starting point within a limited domain: An appartment and all the things you can find there. What I really love is the idea of the game: You walk around and collect the vocabulary by clicking on objects. All words are available with pronounciation. And in a quiz you have to locate the objects in the appartment. The objects beeing positioned in the room make it easier to remember the words, because the words are linked to a visual context. The same goes for the verbs/adjectives beeing linked to objects. What I would love to see in the future are more locations (street, supermarket, office, etc.) to learn more vocabuary, perhaps a bit of grammar and a greater variety of quizzes. From a gaming standpoint of view it's not very attractive because of the limited "gaming character", but surely more fun than learning vocabulary lists by heart. The technical implementation is good. Summary: One of the best educational games to learn new vocabulary that I found so far. I hope to see more of Influent in the future.

A great Concept! Influent uses the Technology of the Memorial Palace to introduce Players to a Language. Unfortunately, the Implementation is terrible ... Maybe I'll just tell you what experiences I had with "Influencer": I bought "Influent," with the Goal of playfully improving my Norwegian, or at least maintaining a certain level with some Exercises. So I started the Game and was presented without a Word of Explanation with the following Choice: 1.ord/2.et ord, i.e. in German I had the Choice between "Word" and "One Word." Even with my Previous Knowledge of the Language, which I supposedly do not need, I was overwhelmed in view of this Selection. So far, I don't know what I actually picked and what a Difference it may have made. So I started in the Room and was immediately greeted by an annoying Auxiliary Box, which, instead of taking my hand to explain the Functions step by step, has all my Knowledge of the more than cluttered Controls in my Face. The fact that this Knowledge was not complete does not need to be mentioned at this Point. German and Norwegian Are very similar because they are related Languages. So I don't want to blame "Influencer" when I say that I was first wrong by this claustrophobie-producing bunker to find Words that I didn't already know, nor to be derived from German with Ease. I also got some Lists together, because I already had the next Problem: Once put together, Lists seem to be fixed. No Idea if this can be set out, I didn't find out. So I played with the random list time challenge and I'm not allowed to lie, I actually had a little Fun as well. I finally unplayed Verbs and Adjectives (why you have to play the Free ones eludes my Idea, since I can put noun on the list at any time and apparently regardless of whether I already know them, should also put on the List (!), as I would like to this Time became clear ...), which I was strangely never queried (perhaps another User Error) and eventually lost Patience when I wandered through this grotesquely set up Kabuff for almost 15 Minutes to find "et batteri ..." Conclusion: This Game may be suitable to give a first Glimpse into a language or to make Children curious about it. Would it just not be for the terrible Controls and confusing Menus ... There would be at least several Levels! Hach, I don't want to come up with Suggestions for Improvement ...
