Isbarah reviews

This game is exactly like a dish too spicy. We know very well that it will not happen well, that it will be hard and unfair in the long term but well, in the end it's super good so why deprive? I read a lot of forum where people designated it as a fake shmup and I would not give them wrong here because we do not shoot anything here anyway. On the other hand, of all the platformer in the arena to which I was able to play, that is by far the best that fell in my hands. So yes it's hard and Yes sometimes you want to throw the screen through the window and sacrifice a goat to Khorne to go and take care of the maniac in charge of the patterns but you have what? It's basically what we're looking for. A good big tough challenge, which puts you on all fours before you get up with a lot of kicking in the butt. On this I return to my daily session of enraged Dodge and I invite you to join us:)

Graphically Isbarah is a success. The backgrounds are beautiful, the boss designs are inspired and despite the deluge of meatballs on the screen the action remains permanently readable. The shooting patterns are varied and we really take pleasure in discovering each new attack and looking for the best way to survive it. The music rather rock accompany the action and reinforce the epic side of the clashes. I wish I had some sounds during the comic-book discussion phases before the fights but hey, it's not that bad. IRIA responds to the finger and eye, the platform/danmaku mix works and one really takes pleasure in combining its three powers to sneak between the loaded patterns. Scoring enthusiasts will be filled with a complete point system that really gives way to progression even if it is a pity that there is no online ranking. The only real problem finally, which is unfortunately of size, is the very high difficulty of the title. Even in normal mode, few players will succeed in completing the game and especially, even if there are 18 levels, instead of being linear the difficulty skyrockets and from the end of Chapter 3 it becomes hell. I know that this is a choice of developers, but I sincerely believe that an easy mode would not have been too much. The positive part of this is that it will take a lot of hours to study and pass each pattern rather than closing the adventure too quickly. Isbarah is certainly a good game but I really insist on the fact that its difficulty will be far from suitable for everyone.
