Jack Keane 2 - The Fire Within reviews

Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Game to anyone in good Conscience, although I really liked Part one very much. The Story and the Humour are ok, even if in my Opinion they don't even come Close to reference titles like the better LucasArts adventures or from me also the Deponia series. But I Really missed the Fun of the Game with the technical Implementation. Played on Windows 8.1, and honestly I'm glad I just made it to the End Credits. Even the Credits in the End Credits have still buckled up the Screen. You can't move the Character by simple Click, but have to hold down the Mouse button and then move the Mouse in the appropriate Direction, or control the Character with WASD in 3D through the Image. Grim Fandango and Monkey Island 4 have already shown that this is not a good Idea. And here, too, both only work very hakily, and in some Places the Figure just gets stuck. The Perspective is sometimes a Disaster, and changes so unhappily in a few Places that you have to change the Direction precisely in order not to be constantly sent back and forth between two Images. It also happened to me several times that Jack ran out of the Picture without the Perspective changing, and you had to try to get back into the Picture in The blind Flight. Throughout the Game, the same Mini-game is always drawn up from a Form of Martial Arts Duels with different Opponents. To do this, you have to learn different new Moves and apply them in the Schere-Stein-Papier-Principle. But if you get Desperate and lose, you have to start again to dazzle a hakelous Path to the Tournament Leader, start a Dialogue with him, say that you want to try again, and back into the Arena. Since not all Movements of the Opponent can be identified immediately, and you lose in some Fights already on the first successful Hit of the Opponent, this can pull quite nicely. A video cutscene is started for almost every interaction-this can be "skipped" by Pressing the space button, but this leads to a Loading Process that sometimes takes longer to have the Sequence simply passed through. In my Steam version, the Language could not be changed to German, either in the Game menu itself or through the Settings for The Game on Steam. With a Download of the German Language Files via a Link from the Forum uploaded by another Player, it was finally possible. Hardcore adventure fans, who already have everything else through, may be able to access here in 80% sale, but even that is actually still too expensive For the fact that due to the numerous Quirks simply does not want to enjoy lasting gameplay. My Opinion. I like to make good Games again with a little time lag, but in this Case I didn't have to hesitate with Uninstalling. I'm kind Of sorry for Deck13 because some Ideas and Settings weren't that bad Either, but to be a really good adventure it would have to be reworked from Scratch.
