About

J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars is an innovative narrative driven adventure game which is being developed due to overwhelming support from a successful crowdfunding campaign.

The story centers on Rachel Manners, a 35 year old astrobiologist. She is a member of an elite group of scientists, chosen to embark on one of the most critical missions ever conceived on Earth. Now Rachel is alone, orbiting an unknown planet. Her only companions are J.U.L.I.A., the space probe’s artificial intelligence and Mobot, a huge reconnaissance robot. Together, this unlikely trio will explore the mysteries of this solar system. But are they prepared for what they will find?story
After countless years of careful space observation, the enormous telescope Chandra 17 suddenly locates a solar system quite similar to our own. As all earthly observatories turned their attention towards this new discovery, a signal of artificial origin is detected from deep within the system.

Reaction was immediate and a mission plan was conceived. No expense was spared in the construction of a massive space probe. It was designed and equipped to be ideally suited for the ultimate challenge: to meet and study extraterrestrial sentient life-forms. Equal care was taken with the crew. Only the most prominent scientists were selected and trained to ideally represent planet Earth. Everything was perfectly planned and success was certain. Yet somehow, everything has gone terribly wrong…

Now, imagine being jolted awake by an emergency alarm. As your surroundings come into focus, you realize you were deep in cryogenic sleep on a vast space probe. But why you are there is an elusive memory. Disoriented, you rush to the control room searching for answers. Once there you learn from the ship’s AI that not only have you been asleep for decades, but you are also the last surviving member of the probe’s crew.

To make matters worse, the probe is severely damaged by a disastrous impact with a passing meteoroid swarm. First, you must make repairs. Not only is your own survival at stake, but you need to find out what happened to the crew and why you alone survived. Are You Prepared to
  • step into the spacesuit of Rachel Manners and find out why she was the sole survivor of this ill-fated expedition?
  • utilize an ingenious MOBOT – a mobile robot designed for planetary exploration to investigate this solar system and all its wonders?
  • solve the mystery of the mission’s failure and locate the missing crew?
  • travel to six unique planets and uncover their secrets?
  • solve puzzles, gather clues and communicate with the most temperamental artificial intelligence ever designed?
  • Are you prepared for… J.U.L.I.A.

J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars reviews and comments

Wow, actually it should only pass me the Time for a few Hours, but it was more than expected! A truly very successful Adventure that knows how to captivate the Player if he can get something off the Sci-fi Setting. The Story is not even soooo outstanding. If you are not a Newcomer in the Field Of Sci-fi, you can quickly gather one and one together and know where the Game takes you. Still, the Gaming Experience was cool and you want to know what happens next ... Just as much has to be a Game for me. The Graphics and Animations are quite ok throughout. Nothing Moving in the world, but they serve their Purpose and occur in sufficient Numbers. As you know it from Adventures, special Milestones are rewarded with small Clips and the Rest is the usual Adventuregameplay. But now a small Evaluation of the Content. The Puzzles were not very difficult, but one made an Effort not to let everything become too monotonous. Clearly there are Mini-games that repeat themselves, for example the composition of Blueprints, but here it has not occurred to me as disturbing often. There were actually no serious Puzzles as far as I remember. Some, however, are more demanding than others in the Category of a difficult time. One simply has to think about some of them for the first time, because unfortunately there is a lack of a reasonable Explanation from time to time. Translating the Alien Language initially cost me nerves, for Example, but was then one of the lightest Puzzles ever after seeing through it. Something like that would have been unnecessary, because a short and understandable Description really shouldn't be too much to ask. Otherwise, I have only a few minimal Criticisms that have occurred to me most personally. As the Game progresses, the scientist we embody shows some very annoying Character Traits. Whether this is due to Progress in the Game, but if a Scientist who can be sent into the Space by one way ticket, in good German, she does not express a Buck to investigate Things, then that Bothers me. What the Hell did she think, what will she do in deep Space after the Journey? With Umbrellas lying on the Beach while the others carry out their Activities? ^^ As I said, it can be a somewhat failed Attempt to show the character Development In The advanced Course Of the game but oh boy, something annoying! As if that hadn't been annoying enough, the KI/AI also has nothing better to do than constantly give snappy comments on the best. -.-* She should support me and not squeeze me in every time the Opportunity presents itself. Sure, maybe some Dialogue peps minimally if I don't talk constantly with an artificial Intelligence that has the proverbial Stick in the ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I'm just saying "format c:." Everything has its Limits. 3:) Apart from these relatively minor Deficiencies from a Gameplay point of view, I still have an urgent Note to the Developers on the technical Side. BITTE, for your next Game (which I will very much like to buy again) makes a reasonable Menu! Selecting by Launcher to choose between two Resolutions, once FHD and once HD, was a bad Joke! I like to play my Games in 4k when I already use this Resolution in Everyday life and it makes for a very bad Gaming experience if your Game doesn't cope with my 3 Screens and I therefore have to re-sort my complete icon collection every time I play. All let alone the Problem that I don't get your Full HD Image back into Full Screen Mode without turning the Resolution of my Main Monitor. :/ This is a Mood killer and the average of several thousand FPS ingame in the Scenes I would have liked to have used for a higher Resolution. :D So, but now enough! I thank you for a great Gaming Experience and look forward to your next Game! I definitely keep an eye on you dear Developers!
