the beginning is drawn out forever. then it plays ok, even if clumsy from the interface perspective. however, I have practised some hiragana before. i was just looking for another channel to keep me busy with japanese. so i made practically no mistakes (you must identify hiragana syllables to defeat demons).
all off a sudden my party of 4 "heroes" got eliminated in just one fight starting from being 100% healthy despite I did not make any mistakes.
I smell a rat!
technically the game had only covered 10 percent of what it had to cover, so why not make it unwinnable at that point? I doubt there is anyghing programmed ahead of the farm level. even if there was there is no point in letting the playere die over and over again if he fullfills the major goal of the game (which is identifying hiragana characters).
so - dont buy folks! invest your money in the "human japanese app" or "dr. moku"

The most Important thing beforehand: Dear Manufacturers, please get your Game ready for Katakana quickly! You definitely have a Buyer.
But now to the actual Report: I bought this Game because I was always interested in Japan and wanted to learn the Characters. Unfortunately, it is just the case that you quickly forget them again when you no longer actively learn them or that after a short Time you have no Desire to memorize them stupids.
That'S why I thought this Game was an interesting Alternative to The Index card and it is.
+ You start with a Set of Characters and you learn new Sets over Time.
+ The Story won't win an Oscar, but it's entertaining enough to keep playing.
+ The Graphics are apt. Fans of old JRPGs ala Final Fantasy In particular will rejoice.
+ The Price is more than fair-Generally, the Game is very repetitive. You learn a new Set of Characters and then go to an Area where you are primarily attacked by these Characters, which you defeat by throwing their Translation at their Head. When that's done, you learn more Characters, go into a new Area, translates the learned Characters etc.-Unfortunately no Replay Value-Language unfortunately only in English I'm of Course aware that you only learn through Repetition, but would be a little more Variety Funny. Maybe bring In opponents that you don't defeat by Translation, but in old FF fashion. However, this is Criticism at a very high Level.
Another Criticism is that each Area has its own Set of characters that attack as a matter of priority, which means that if I want to repeat an old Set, I have to go to Areas that no longer provide Experience points or are technically perfect for Storing. Have become irrelevant. It would be nicer that created Areas simply house all Signs with the same Probabilities.
Summa Summarum: A Game that I enjoyed a lot and which I will often start to practice.
Tl; dR: Buy it! You will NOT be able to speak Japanese as a result, but you will be able to read and write Hiragana. But Beware, the Game is completely in English.
Dear Developers, please translate your next Title! If necessary, get in touch with me, then I do:D
