Made in 1 & a half day as a proof of concept for a level design test. This prototype is inspired famous Deathruns created in Fortnite Creative Mode.
The prototype is built around the theme Escape the Room without touching the Floor / Floor is Lava.
You as a player are stuck in a facility that is always moving & changing. It’s always surrounded by an invisible barrier of death. Avoid this & escape the facility. It’s the matter of your life.
- The map is built to emulate floor is lava condition.
- Player will have to escape the room without dying.
- Location Saving is only on checkpoints at the end of each section or start of new section.
The map is initially built for a Single-Player experience. It consists of following mechanics –
- Walk & Turn Around in Third Person view.Jump.
- Dash.
- Moving Platforms.
- Grab Ledge, Climb & Side Movement.
The game only supports keyboard & mouse input (v0.3).

ENGINE & ASSETSPrototype is built in Unreal Engine 4.24.3 with default& free assets available on the Unreal Engine marketplace. Climb system & animations are courtesy of Medel Design (YouTube).
The prototype will be updated with more features & mechanics in future versions.
KNOWN BUGS & ISSUES- Climbing a ledge can glitch & orientation of the player can change to random direction.
- Player can switch the ledge side instead of jumping between ledges.
- Checkpoint update indicator can reset & display 0 on re-spawning.
- Checkpoint update indicator can display another one on top of it on re-spawning.
- Jumping back while hanging will not grab the ledge sometimes.
- Dashing & jumping at the same time will teleport the player to the starting checkpoint with hanging animation & input being disabled.
