Little Big Adventure – Twinsen’s Quest reviews and comments
I grew up with Little Big Adventure 2 (aka Twinsen’s Odyssey), so I went back to the original later in life… and honestly, I never liked it: clunky gameplay, weak story, ugly visuals. I get why it was innovative back then, but it didn’t click with me. This remake completely changed that. Smooth controls, a proper visual overhaul (the original looked awful), and script tweaks that make the story much stronger. I especially love the addition of Luna as a rebellious character who drives the plot, while Zoe takes on a more active role—no more outdated “save the princess” trope. The expanded lore about Sendell and Twinsen’s family is also a nice touch. That said, some old flaws remain: enemies can still be cheesed from afar, and sometimes it’s unclear what to do next since objectives aren’t well tracked. Luna’s Adventure Book helps, but a proper “Current Objective” log would’ve been better. NPC dialogue can also get repetitive after completing tasks. Overall, I had a wonderful time with this remake. It’s clearly aimed at both nostalgic players and newcomers. Veterans might find it a bit rough and limited, but for me it was worth it. Thanks [2.21] and Microids—now I’m waiting for the LBA2 remake, the one that defined my childhood.
