Love Ribbon reviews

It's time for another review! This one is about Love Ribbon ( obviously lol ) which I already call one of the few gems out there in the Visual Novel genre. I wanna start with a rather negative look though. After I finished the game I read alot of the discussion threads and topics going around about this game and I really cannot understand why it recieves so much hatred. Yes it is a story about a taboo love between two sisters, but that is already stated in the games description anyways. So I don't get why people are so insulting and immature behaving on that topic. Like, if you have a problem with that setup then please stay away from that game rather than buying it and complain about the literal setup itself. Personally it was a really interesting expirience to read this story. Not only because it is really well written and easy to follow, but also because the point of view in this taboo zone is really interesting. From the different points inside the realitionship aswell as from the different points and angles on how it affects your surroundings. The taboo thing didn't only make it more exciting but also alot more emotional in my opinion. After all it's is not easy to deal with lover feelings for your own blood related sibling. From trying to work around the feelings, to the attempt to shut your feelings down completely, to finding a way out of this or of course, find a way for it to work. Every mind set was covered here and fleshed out perfectly in my opinion. Not only was I able to feel the hardship this whole setup brought with it but also the wish for it to work out and all that thanks to the amazing story writing which was done here. Graphic wise the game is gorgeous. From the backgrounds, to the characters, the colors and ofc the motion function which was built in in some of the important situations to make it more lively, I was really pleased with the amazing work of the creators. The only downside I wanna mention though is that the soundtrack got somewhat repetetive. Of course, like in every other Visual Novel, there is one tune for exciting stuff, one for emotional/sad stuff, a chill tune for everyday stuff etc etc. You get what I mean. But on this Visual Novel it felt repetetive quite fast. I cannot really say why or if the soundtrack actually lacks in variety but at least I got the feeling it does so. Overall it was an amazing expirience to read this Visual Novel. An astonishing story with so much emotion and in-depth details about mind settings and actual emotions of the characters that the story itself is something which could have been published without anything else to it. I definitely recommend this game for anyone who has no problem with this "incestous" story and is able to look past this "social" cutrain to expirience an amazing masterpiece of art and story! ~ ShikiX
