Lucid Dreamland Tech Demo

Lucid dreamland takes place in a dark and eerie dreamland. The player delves into this dreamland in a lucid state with nothing but a few emotions and his trusty pillow.  The player spends their time moving through this vast, mystical land by solving puzzles that block their path and discovering that the nightmares have taken over their dreamland in order to consume them.

During the players adventure they will encounter “lost kids”, these are children who have already lost the battle against the nightmares and have become consumed by the nightmares, destined to be ruled over and stuck in the nightmare forever.

The main mechanics in the adventure include moving (running/jumping), interacting with various objects, building a deck of cards (emotions) and using this deck to defeat the nightmares.

The player is tasked to help the lost kids throughout his adventure and reinforcing themselves with positive emotions as they delve deeper into the darker side of the dreamland where the player eventually stands head-to-head with the “boogey man” in a fight for dreamland as well as their own life.

Throughout this adventure the player will become “consumed” by the nightmares and will have to fight back using positive emotions before becoming a “lost kid” them self.
