Lunar Defence
About
Lunar Defence is a 2D space shooter inspired by the Atari classic arcade game Missile Command. Taking the phrase "moon shot" literally, the player controls a laser-shooting turret on the moon. The aim is to shoot down waves of increasingly bigger meteor showers headed directly at the Earth to avoid direct impact.
ProductionI wrote this game using a basic game engine I designed using the Ebiten library for Go with graphics I drew myself in Inkscape. You can find the SVG files and the source code in the links in the details section. The sound effects were produced at home and edited in Audacity.
The atmospheric game music is Nihilore - The Water and the Well.
