Early Access Review Melody's Escape is basically a rarefied Version of Bit.Trip Runner, where you can use your own Music Pool. In other words, for whom the Bit.Trip Runner do not yet know, this is a Game in which the Landscape passes by your Figure and you press the right Button at the right Time to avoid obstacles or collect Orbs. With Melody's Escape, these are generated according to your music, which you select from your Hard Drive beforehand, so you have as many different Levels as your Music collection gives. The Game lets you choose between different Levels of difficulty, which on the one hand depend of course on the Choice of your song, but on the Other hand also determine the Type of Keystroke you have to apply. There are four Buttons for the Direction and four for the Color. One direction and One color are displayed per Orb or obstacle: In the lightest degree, one key Is sufficient per Intensity level (different Background), namely that of the correct Color or Direction. The next time the Button can change at any Orb/obstacle, again it doesn't matter if you use the Button for Color or Direction. Another Degree higher in the Obstacles must be the Button for the Direction, but in the Case of the Orbs the Color. Last but not least, the most difficult Degree awaits you, where the color has to be pressed for the Orbs, but this time two Directional Buttons for the Obstacles. As a Bonus, a Mode has been integrated by allowing you to tinker with the Conditions yourself, as well as an automatic mode to look in. Due to its Minimalism, I.e. Substrate black, background monochrome, one is not really distracted, who disturbs the Visualization in the Background (Northern Lights effect I call it), it can also switch it off. Although I am already in despair of the forced Difficulty and will therefore work my way up to the lightest degree, Melody's Escape is already a lot of Fun for me:) The Levels are very nicely built up to the Music, you have the Feeling that they really fit the Music, not always 100%ig, but still close. (EDIT: So, I went through a few Genres today, because I wanted to know how good the different Musical Styles are: Death-/Blackmetal doesn't really work well, with the Thrashmetal the whole thing works better, power and Doommetal is already doing really well, BUT EBM and Minimalelectro Still work best in my Opinion. Further Tests follow) Unlike Bit.Trip Runner, where you always have to restart from The Checkpoint, Melody's Escape continues to run the Song in case of an Error and you are simply reinstated in a suitable Location. However, these are already quite difficult in the first Degree of difficulty, which has frustrated me less than Bit.Trip Runner by the above fact, because you arrive at the End despite Mistakes. It is therefore mainly a matter of eradicating his Mistakes, thus improving his own High Score and ideally filling 5/5 Stars. Those who enjoy It are allowed to access it boldly, because you not only get a captivating again,-muss-better-food-game, but also a (despite Early Access with me so far bug-free) and blessed with a Workshop from which you can use Color Variations and Skins and Hairstyles for The good Melody Can get. Status: v0.7.1.0
