Mervils: A VR Adventure reviews

Product received for free Early Access Review I generally love VR Games and I also like Game Ideas that deviate somewhat from the Unit porridge (currently First Person Wave Shooter). Mervils: A VR Adventure is an Action adventure With smaller puzzle and Skill Inserts. Basically, you walk around in a Level, talk to the Residents and fulfill smaller Quests for these. The Aim is to find Pages from the great Mervil book, then stop the Villain Balazar. Graphic: The Game runs in the Third Person Perspective or you can also play it in the First Person perspective. The Comic Style is very nice, but the Game certainly does not win Prizes for the Graphics. The Overall Impression, however, is great, especially because of VR. Sound: Good Setting, nice Dialogues, matching sound effects-very nice. Gameplay: You can probably roam the Game a little, but I enjoy talking to any available NPC and solving their Tasks, which requires partial Skill (E.g. Ballista shooting) or Thinking. For me a good Mix, Thumbs up! There are Fights-either you knock the Opponent over with a Sword or bounce on it. Some Skill Inserts require some Practice (E.g. crossing Abysses by Rope: Here you have to lean against the Wind, so really physically stand against the Wind in order not to fall down), but are not frustrating. In the Home Level you can also upgrade your Character (better Armor, swords, etc), which also Motivates you to find more Pages, because more Items are unlocked, the more pages you find in the Game. Conclusion: A really successful Package: Action, Puzzle, Exploration, Dexterity-these Things have been well implemented, especially at the Price highly recommended! Mervils is a Mario Ardas 3D Jump 'n Run. It is again such a Title where I would like to pronounce a "maybe" as a Recommendation. Mervils actually does everything right overall. It offers a very good Graphics, lots of loving Details, great Levels, so you're busy for 6 Hours until you've played the Game until the End. It's definitely one of the highest Quality Indie Games on the Market. If Mario Süchtig is and has liked to play the 3D Versions on the Game Qube, for example, you should take a Look at Mervils. For me personally, however, this is nothing. I honestly don't need a real 3D Experience in a Game like this, but well, you can certainly argue about that, but above all I don't get that good with the Controls. On The one hand, the Touch Controllers, where I have Some problems, indicate the Direction really precisely, so that I keep jumping past Objects. But Above all the Camera. Since you don't walk stuck behind the Figure (Motion Sickness is quite a Factor) you jump behind with the Camera by Teleport. The whole thing then somehow stops me, though. I find myself constantly thinking that I would already be much further along if I hadn't jumped past the damn piece of gold 3 times and could orient myself faster and better after Teleport. I absolutely admit, however, that this is a purely subjective Experience. With some Practice, you can certainly get to grips with these Things and play Mervils in VR as quickly and safely as a "normal" platformer. For me, however, it is simply not a Title in which I personally see added value in VR and need a VR Experience. After a short Time I thought I'd rather play it in front of a Monitor with Pad in my Hand. Do I Recommend this Game? Difficult Decision. I will say a Yes, because it is absolutely well done and implemented with great Attention to Detail. If you're not like me Kind of touchpad motion legologist, and have Fun playing these Kinds of Games, you should risk a Look.
