Mushihimesama (“Bug Princess” in English) is a vertical shooting game set in a beautiful fantasy world. Huge insect-like creatures called Koju roam the forest outside the village of Hoshifuri. When Reco's people fall to a mysterious sickness, the young princess decides to leave the village and meet the God of the Koju, who may provide a cure. Riding her faithful Golden Beetle friend Kiniro, Reco must traverse the wilds, braving the hostile landscape and the aggressive Koju beasts on her journey through the Shinju Forest. Main Features: Explore a beautiful fantasy world rendered in stunning HD sprite graphics. Battle a variety of giant "Koju" bugs across 5 stages, including a blazing desert, lush forests, and a serene cave. CAVE's trademark bullets create a stunning visual impression, with iconic patterns unfolding in every boss encounter! Play the definitive shooter from the legendary developers that pioneered the "bullet hell" genre! By decreasing the size of the player hitbox, Mushihimesama is able to challenge the player with some of the most intriguing and innovative shot patterns in the shoot 'em up genre. Experience the thrill of dodging thousands of bullets at once in one of CAVE's best games! Choose from several game modes: Arcade mode is designed to be as close to the original arcade game as possible. Novice mode is similar to Arcade, but balanced for new players. Arrange is a remixed version where you start with maximum firepower and defend yourself automatically. Customize further with 3 different weapon types and two different option types. Mushihimesama has several different modes and difficulty settings, including a mode specifically balanced for new players. No matter your skill level, you are certain to find a favorite mode! Bold players should try the notorious "Ultra" mode, which is infamous for being one of the most difficult challenges in gaming! Mushihimesama V1.5 "Matsuri" Mode is available separately as optional DLC. V1.5 is a remixed game mode with alternate music and mechanics. Crank up the multiplier by firing close to enemies, but beware, as the bullet speed will also increase! Previously, this mode was only available on an extremely limited basis, but now it is available to every player on Steam! Enjoy energetic and inspiring music from composers Manabu Namiki and Masaharu Iwata. There are two soundtracks included (three with V1.5) to create an unforgettable mood for each stage. You can choose which soundtrack to play for every stage and area, so feel free to mix and match your favorite tracks! A robust list of optional features are supported, including: A training mode to assist with practicing individual stages. Multiple options to adjust viewing windows, screen size and position, and screen orientation. Try the vertical "tate" mode to get an arcade-authentic picture! An assortment of beautiful background images. Support for keyboard customization and multiple controllers. Online global leaderboards with replay sharing. Local co-op gameplay. Steam achievements.

I am still very new to this Genre and do not have much Experience with Shmups. If you look for the Genre a bit on Youtube, you'll come across Mushihimesama Sooner rather than later. The Game has been around for the Xbox for a long time, for example, but since I don't own any, I was all the more pleased that this Game is finally available on Steam. And after a few Hours Of playing, it's already clear to me why the Name comes quite often when you read about Shmups. For inexperienced Players like me, Novice Mode is a very nice Entry Into this Genre. You have the Control quickly intus and you are pleasantly challenged. In other Shmups I hardly felt any significant Progress, I am almost desperate and finally put it aside. In The Novice Mode of Mushimimesama, however, I notice how I am slowly getting better. After four Hours I make it to the Middle of the third Stage without losing a Life and even if this Progress may sound slow it feels good and right for me. In Normal or Arrange I don't make it that far without Continue, but even there I'm not completely lost. Even if I'm still thrown up there in Stage 2, the Game feels exciting and a lot of Fun. I can't really judge it with my little Experience, but at the latest in The mode V1.5como which is unfortunately only available for a FEE as DLC) on Ultra, professionals will surely reach their Limits quickly. Under The Grain, I think Mushimimesama is probably a very good Title for Beginners where you can have a lot of Fun and grow. The pretty Graphics and the very nice Soundtrack do the rest. The only big Shortcoming For me at the moment is that High Scores are not stored locally. At this Point, it is imperate again.

Probably the most beautiful Ball hell ever! Mushihimesama is a great Bullet-light Shooter from Cave, the Developer who almost invented the Genre with Donpachi in 1995. So here, too, it's about fighting back countless Opponents who stock our little insect princess with even more Bullets. The Insectoids opponents are very imaginatively designed, the Environments varied and beautifully colorful! With Mushihimesama, a Legend appeared in the Japanese Arcade Halls in 2006. It's considered one of the heaviest Ball hells of all Time, even seasoned Shoot'm Up players are pushing their Limits here, especially in ultra fashion. However, the Game always remains fair. In all the colorful Detail that is truly unique for a Game that once appeared on PS2, the enemy Balls and the own Fire nevertheless always stand out nicely from the Underground. I dare say that Playing with all the Insects is the most beautifully designed Shoot'm Up ever-the Look is simply breathtaking! Mushihimesama is certainly also suitable for genre beginners-not only because there is also a beginner mode, but also, above all, because the Scoring System is far less complex than in a Dodonpachi, for example-in Standalone mode, it is basically simply a matter of Send as many Enemies as possible over the Jordan River before this Fate meets you. So it was certainly a good Decision by Cave and Degica to be the first to release this Game from the Cave portfolio on Steam-let's hope many more follow. This shup gem was previously only Region-Locked for the Japanese PS2, as well as available in HD for the Xbox360. Let's Be pleased that Degica is preparing to release more Cult Games of this niche genre on Steam. But That will only happen if Mushihimesama Becomes a Success. So: Buy! The Ideal Way To catch up on this Game without a Japanese Console, or to make it known with the Danmaku (Bullet-Hell) Genre! Besides Crimzon Clover and Ikaruga one of the Best Shmups on Steam!
