Mystery of Blood and Feud

Inspired by the Recontact Istanbul Eyes of the Sky, Late Shift and The World After game as a concept. Mystery of Blood and Feud is a game that made for a university final - graduation project in two semesters in the Istanbul Bilgi University, Digital Game Design Department. We used mostly Adventure Creator asset to create the system of the game. The game were done by three student. We are also played as a character in the game.
Mystery of Blood and Feud is a story driven, unique live-action, point and click, interactive cinematographic experience set in modern day Istanbul. The game is about a university professor who studies various ancient cults while also working as a part-time private investigator for hire to earn some extra money. His particular expertise eventually draws the attention of two powerful rivaling cults who are practitioners of ancient magical rituals and servants of gods of myth and legend. Their conflict draws our character into the story and sends him on a thrilling adventure of dark secrets and mysteries which will eventually lead him to discover the nature of his own birth by careful investigation, interrogation, puzzle solving, as well as discovering and learning how to use magical runes.

The player will experience a thrilling non-linear, branching storyline with four different potential outcomes to the main character’s story, progressed through slow-paced gameplay which will incentivize the player to carefully analyze the scenes and dialogues to achieve the preferred outcome. Moreover the player will use our unique “rune” magic casting side mechanic in order to overcome obstacles inside the levels by drawing the runes themselves on top of a 2D rendered space, instead of simply clicking a button like in most fantasy rpgs or action adventures. During certain levels the player will have to avoid “stalkers” while trying to complete their objectives, if the player is caught by the npcs they will have to restart their level from the beginning. They will be able to find areas to hide in and lock entrances to their room to avoid the stalker. The stalker's proximity to the player will be indicated by a slider.
