NAM reviews

A classic FPS of the 90 made using the Duke Nukem 3D Engine, and recycling several of its aspects. It feels like a "Total Converted" of Duke 3D more than a game apart made using the Engine, presents an exaggerated difficulty and unfair that is created with the intention of giving realism back then. The music is varied but sparse, varied in the sense that there are extremely good and memorable topics such as the first level (which is repeated in other maps) but then others that leave a lot to be desired, is somewhat short, has only 2 episodes of between 7 and 8 levels. Despite its problems I recommend for anyone who has enjoyed classic FPS (Extremely recommended to play using the Sourceport "Eduke32" which allows better performance and resolution than Dosbox)

Alan? Can you tell your comrades to stop bombarding us during our missions? NAM, released in 1998, is an old-school FPS where one embodies Alan "the bear" Westmoreland, on a mission to Vietnam. And it's gone for the autochotone debasing! (But it's for freedom, so it's okay) The most:-runs on Windows 10 without problem with the emulator DosBox provides in the steam version. -If we get back to the time, he's not that ugly. The decorations are rich, despite repetitive textures. -A beautiful array of weapons. -Gameplay in the line of DOOM or Duke Nukem. No verticality, we run by pulling everywhere with the self-aim. At least they managed not to miss it. -Good lifespan, about 7-8h to finish the missions of the game. The minus:-no KeyBinding... Suddenly, forced to move forward with the directional keys, and no possibility of straf. -Repetitive content, the objectives are not clear and the map that is visible only in full screen, in full action...-during the whole progression of the game, you will meet enemies, which besides will not be more numerous than 4 level variety, which will try to kill you, and your aerial artillery too. So we find ourselves dying at 70% because of our allies all up there. Bravo. For note, this game has made me crazy. -The proportion of enemies in an area is particularly badly screwed. Basically, no movements for 2-3 min over a long enough distance, then it's Armageddon in the forest, and we die. Add to that the artillery, and I assure you that you will have a very good time. -Music BOF, and that never changes, or almost. Conclusion: NAM probably had to be the Galactic equivalent Hitman at the time. To know poorly realized. I strongly advise against it, unless your passion is to pull your hair. ____ If you have found this evaluation useful, come join our curation page and our forums!
