Nightmares Aren't Real

A short puzzle game about having to escape a nightmare by using your mirror.

Made in a week for Brackey's Game Jam 2022.1, which is the first game jam I have participated in.

All assets (art, code, sound, music) were made by me during the timeframe of the jam (1 week), however I used a combination of 2 colour palettes from Lospec for all of the art:

Tutorial

Light can be reflected using your mirror and those around.
Nightmares are destroyed by exposure to light, however ones with purple outlines are immune to light.
But, if it is connected to another nightmare that has been exposed to light, it will be destroyed.

Controls

A/D to Move
W/S to Angle Mirror
Space to Jump
R to Restart Level
Press S mid-air while over an upwards light beam to go up

Note

This game can be relatively hard towards the end, so don't get disheartened or give up if it takes a while to find the solutions.

If you're really struggling try think about the order in which you do things.

If the browser version of the game doesn't work for whatever reason, there is also a download available.

Download Instructions

After you've downloaded the .zip file, right click on it and click "Extract All".

Then open the extracted folder and click "BrackeysGameJam2022.1.exe" and the game can open.

If you need to close the game just press Alt + F4.
