Noxdrift

Noxdrift is a small but passionate prototype of a fast-paced vertical platformer, developed in Unreal Engine 5. The player takes control of Nox, a young and smart tinkerer girl who wants to revolt against the oppressing rich at the very top of the tower. To get to the top they have to use the power of their magnetic parkour boots that enable snapping towards magnetic surfaces if the player can correctly control their magnetic charge. Through a combination of grinding, wall running, jumping, and dashing, players will be able to conquer various obstacles throughout their own path toward the top.

Our goal was to experiment with the idea of a vertical platformer that would feature fast action and split-second decision-making.

We also emphasized the “speedrunning” possibilities by designing our mechanics around it.
