Nyctophobia (itch) (Flizzard)

A protagonist who has severe nyctophobia, the fear of the dark, and the main premise of a game centered around the usage of brightness to demonstrate the safety of light and the harm of darkness.

From a gameplay perspective, the player must work through decreasingly lit levels, finding their way along, trying to make it to the next area.

Inspiration is taken from multiple games such as Don't Starve, and its similar premise of using darkness as an unknown threat to the player.

For the story, inspiration was also taken from Neverending Nightmares, a game about the struggles of a man dealing with psychosis, however the actual gameplay is in the form of a platformer, rather than a typical creepy/horror game.

Nycto wakes up alone with no memory of how he had arrived here. He is faced with multiple obstacles as he tries to escape the dark environments he's been forced to roam.
